Well it looks like Apple’s Macbook Air will meet its match with the new Asus Eee PC x101. The new Eee PC is looking good to give the Apple team a run for their money with this new netbook offered starting at $200. This goodie could run MeeGo or Windows 7 on a dual boot environment. Beneath its very slim chassis is Intel’s powerful 1.5 GHz Oak Trail Atom Processor tagged with their GMA 600 graphics. FYI, MeeGo is a Linux based open source operating system targeted for mobile computing communities. The project has been specifically designed for minute devises such as tablets and notebooks. Currently it is hosted by Linux Foundation. The Asus Eee PC X101 could come with solid state and conventional hard drive configurations. It is 17.6mm thick and is expected to weigh more or less 1 kg. Packed with a 10.1 inch screen, it also comes with two USB ports, 6-cell battery and headphone socket just like your average netbook. It sports the usual tablet keyboard and the screen that renders 1024 x 600 resolution lands a webcam right atop. At present, the full specifications of the device are not yet unveiled so we have yet to know how it fairs with the MacBook Air aside from the thin Aesthetics. The release date is yet to be disclosed by ASUS. Source Pinoytutorial.
